MERINO FOR EVERYONE
We're two brothers who got fed up with socks that turn damp within an hour, lose their shape after a few washes and are back in the wash after a single day.
It came to a head over a few active days in France. One of us had merino socks on, the other cotton out of a multipack. By the end of day two there was no argument about which had won.
Back home, we started digging into merino. Turns out you mostly find it at specialist outdoor brands, or dressed up as a luxury product with the price tag to match.
So we started WALK IT OFF. We found a manufacturer in Portugal and built a sock with everything merino has going for it, for a lot less money.

No. Our merino wool has extremely fine fibres, making it soft against the skin and non-itchy, even for sensitive skin.
Won’t my feet get sweaty quickly?
Quite the opposite. Merino wool wicks away moisture very quickly and dries faster than cotton, helping your feet stay fresh and dry all day.
Can they be machine washed?
Yes. Wash at 30°C or on a wool cycle. Do not tumble dry. For the best care, use our laundry bag to help keep them looking their best for longer.
How often should you wash merino socks?
Merino wool is naturally odour-resistant, so you do not need to wash your socks after every wear. Air them out between wears and wash only when needed.
How do the sizes fit?
Our socks fit true to size. Between two sizes? Choose the smaller size for the best fit.
Are WALK IT OFF socks sustainable?
Yes. Merino wool is natural, renewable and biodegradable, and it does not release microplastics. Our socks are also made to last longer, which means less waste.
Do merino socks pill easily?
Merino wool may pill slightly during the first few wears. This is normal for a soft, natural fibre. After a few washes, the fibres settle and the socks will continue to look good. The pilling will gradually disappear, while the socks remain strong and flexible.
